Five Hundred Thousand

Storyline

A dramedy that tells the story of Firas (Mohammed Naama), who has devoted his life to caring for his elderly employer, Iris (Tzipi Shavit), with unwavering dedication and kindness.

However, when Iris passes away, Firas becomes convinced that she secretly hid a sum of money in her home—money he is certain she intended to leave for him.

Desperate to obtain these funds to cover his father’s mounting medical treatment, he embarks on a determined search. Retrieving the money, however, won’t be easy, as Iris’s intrusive family gathers during the mourning period.

Unlike Iris, a gentle peacemaker, they display little sympathy towards Firas—or his Arab heritage—making his quest even more challenging. It masterfully intertwines humor, palpable tension, and heartfelt drama.
